The Linnet Independent Learning Centre
Lewis Charlton Learning Centre
These schools deliver personalised therapeutic educational support, often on a 1-to-1 basis, to some 65 pupils who have experienced difficulties in mainstream (and sometimes within special education) settings.
To provide a fully rounded package of support, they work through 10 tailored sites around the North West Leicestershire area.
Ofsted rated The Linnet as 'Outstanding’ in all aspects in May 2016 and Lewis Charlton Learning Centre as 'Requires Improvement' in September 2017.
To provide further external challenge and bring supportive expertise, The Lewis Charlton Group is seeking to appoint interested people to become their Governors' Advisory Board.
If you wish to add value to these special pupils and, ideally, if you have knowledge in any of these areas, we would like to hear from you:
- Communication and Media;
- Training/Human Resources/Organisational Development;
- Quality of teaching, learning and assessment
- Personal development, behaviour and welfare
- Outcomes for pupils
The most important attribute will be to want to add value to the special work of these schools. It will also be a great opportunity for your own personal development.The positions will not be remunerated but reasonable expenses will be paid.
