Calling all passionate cooks! Our client, a vibrant and inclusive school based in Bolton, is on the lookout for a dedicated School Cook to join their team. If you have a genuine love for food, enjoy working with children, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, then this is the perfect opportunity for you!

In this role, you will have the chance to showcase your culinary skills and creativity by preparing delicious and nutritious meals for the students and staff. With a focus on providing well-balanced meals that cater to a range of dietary requirements, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that everyone at the school is well-nourished and ready to tackle the day.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook a variety of dishes in line with the school's menu and guidelines.
  • Ensure that all meals are of high quality, tasty, and visually appealing.
  • Monitor portion sizes and ensure they meet the nutritional needs of the students.
  • Maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen environment, adhering to food safety standards.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to plan menus, order supplies, and manage inventory.
  • Engage with students and staff, promoting healthy eating habits and a positive dining experience.

To excel in this role, you should possess the following:

  • Previous experience in a similar role, whether as a School Cook, Assistant Cook, or Kitchen Staff.
  • A Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate.
  • A passion for cooking and a good knowledge of different cooking techniques.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work efficiently to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • A friendly and approachable demeanour, with a passion for engaging with children.

This is a temporary position, starting from April 15, 2024, with working hours from 8 am to 2 pm. The rate of pay for this role ranges from £12.00 to £13.00 per hour.
