School Caretaker

Empowering Learning are currently working in partnership with a School based in Tunbridge Wells. They are recruiting for a School Caretaker to start after the Easter break

Main Accountabilities:

  • Good housekeeping of equipment and consumables and storage areas.
  • Carry out cleaning tasks to ensure the agreed standards and ensure workload is prioritised and completed.
  • Ensuring the efficient and effective day-to-day running, presentation and management of the School site, ensuring a warm, clean, safe and secure environment for all authorised users of the site and visitors.
  • To carry out school maintenance and repairs
  • Responsible for the School's timely waste management collections including all recyclables.
  • The movement of furniture and the setting up and taking down of tables and chairs for special events, functions and meetings.
  • Supervision of some maintenance contractors on site as directed.
  • Repair door handles, door closures, shelving, display boards, locks, basic painting and decorating, window latches.

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Preferably previous experience working in a commercial setting taking care of the building and facilities.
  • Punctual, flexible, trustworthy and reliable.
  • Physically fit and active, and have good DIY skills.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Enhanced DBS (Desirable)
