School Caretaker

 A great opportunity to join a growing academy trust within the premises team. You will be reporting directly into the Facilities Manager and working as part of a shift team covering the following shifts:

One week early shift 5.45 am to 1.30 pm, one week late shift 12.30 pm to 8.15 pm - 36 hours per week

The successful individual will be enthusiastic and proactive and be available to join team as soon as possible.

This is a temporary role with a view to a permanent opportunity for the right candidate.

The cover of lettings on a Saturday morning maybe required and paid as additional hours.

Job purpose

To work to ensure the upkeep of maintenance, cleanliness, security, hygiene and safety within the school

buildings and its grounds. To adhere to health and safety process and procedures.

Skills required:

• Physically fit to be able to carry out manual duties to include general maintenance and cleaning duties.
• Ability to work on a rotating shift basis.
• Effective communications skills.
• Good numeracy and literacy skills.
• Ability to prioritise own workload.
• Ability to work unsupervised.
• Work effectively as a team.

Experience required:

• 2 years' experience within a facilities related role.
• Experience of organising and dealing with a range of maintenance, cleaning and janitorial duties.
