Sawmill Worker

Straight Forward Recruitment Ltd are working on behalf of their client who are actively looking for a Sawmill Worker. 

• Pay Rate: £13.00 per hour 
• Hours of Work: 07h30 - 17h00 Monday to Friday (45 hrs per week) 
• This role may lead to a permanent position after the qualifying period for the right person

The role of a sawmill worker will include the below duties but the job description is not all-inclusive and other related duties may be asked: 

• Operate and maintain equipment to cut logs into lumbers
• Monitor machinery to ensure working correctly and adjust as needed
• Stack and sort lumber according to specification requirements
• Carry out routine checks on equipment 
• Maintain a clean and well organised work area

Ideal candidate will have the following experience: 

• 1 year of working within a sawmill (preferred) 
• Previous experience working within a sawmill or similar manufacturing environment. 
• Must have experience of using crosscut and re-saw machinery as well as hand and power tools 
• Ability to perform heavy lifting for extended period of times
• Knowledge of warehouse operations
