Job Title: Conveyancing Assistant

Salary: £23,000-25,000

Location: Runcorn

Description:

We are proud to represent an award winning legal practice located near Runcorn, who are seeking a Residential Property Assistant to join their team. They are a solicitors firm with a modern outlook who pride themselves on the level of service given to clients. This role would be a great fit for someone who is ambitious, hardworking and who is keen to develop their conveyancing experience.

Hours of work are Monday- Friday 830am-515pm. After an initial training period, the company offer hybrid working - 2 days from home.

The primary role of a Conveyancing Assistant is to provide direct support to a Fee Earner to enable the Fee Earner to operate efficiently. This will include but will not be limited to the main responsibilities listed below. The Conveyancing Assistant is also expected to use a high degree of self-management and initiative.

Salary £23,000-£25,000

Main responsibilities

Opening new files and issue new clients with client letters, T&Cs and prepare all mail and enclosures for posting

Preparing correspondence and documents through audio typing and word processing

Commissioning pre-exchange and pre-completion searches, obtain Legal Indemnity Policies and request documentation from the Land Registry

Arranging for all copying to be carried out and if Reception are not able to do so, undertake the task in person

Making appointments, arrange meetings and to maintain an up-to-date diary for seniors within your team

Attending to clients both in person and on the telephone and to provide such support in a professional and friendly manner in keeping with the firm’s standards for client care

Accurately preparing all invoices and completion statements for submission to the accounts department and distributing to the client portfolio

Correctly recording all funds that are remitted and received by completing posting slips and set files up for completion

Keeping the inhouse database and all file inlay sheets up to date throughout the course of the transaction

Administer filing - this will include daily filing and also the archiving, storage and retrieval of client files in accordance with the detailed procedures contained in the office manual

Provide support to other assistants and reception as and when require

Undertake any specific training when required to do so and overall to have a responsibility towards self-development

Ensure confidentiality of all the firms and client’s documentation and information

Skills required:

Preferably previous experience as a Conveyancing Assistant or experience of working in another professional office

Excellent IT skills

Excellent communication skills both verbal and written

Strong administrative skills gained in an office environment

Ability to work to deadlines, to prioritise and manage a varied caseload

Ability to work well as part of a team and on your own initiative

Professional and effective communication with team members and contacts
