Our client sells world-leading technology products and services to businesses across the world. They offer both hardware and software solutions as well as professional services to their corporate clients from SMEs (Small & Medium-sized Enterprises) to huge global corporations. You’ll be joining a Surrey-based sales team with a focus on SMEs in the south of England where they have their strongest and most productive client base.
Your responsibility is to develop new business opportunities and take new clients live. You will start by using your skills to find, research and contact the decision-makers in each prospective client within your geographic area. Once you speak to them over the phone, it’s your job to understand their IT needs and then to introduce the ways in which you may be able to help them. The aim of these calls is to book meetings with prospective clients to discuss their needs in more detail and the next step is to attend the meetings yourself. Once relevant needs are identified, you’ll put together proposals and return to prospective clients to present those proposals, negotiate terms and take them live as new clients.
The role has the variety of desk-based work and meeting clients face-to-face so will suit those able to succeed over both the phone and in front of clients. You’ll be given all the training you need at the beginning and, thereafter, the autonomy to develop your client base in the way you choose.

Knowledge: Sound basic education with good written skills and good with numbers; experience of telemarketing, telesales or sales, preferably in a business-to-business environment.
Attitude: Hard-working, independent, hungry and focused. If you want to make things happen, this is for you.
Skills: Consultative sales skills, particularly face-to-face; proven ability to generate new business over the phone; excellent research; strong negotiation skills; IT literate; good presentation skills; UK driving licence.
Habits: Well-organised, professional, proactive calling of new and existing clients (don’t hide behind email only!); confidence to work on own initiative.
On offer is a salary of £25,000pa (depending on experience) with a commission structure and bonus scheme giving on target earnings of £35,000pa in your first year. Commission is uncapped and you can reasonably expect to earn £50,000pa in your second year. In addition, you will enjoy benefits commensurate with a career with a global name such as 25 days’ holiday, contributory pension plan (with % matched by company), bonus scheme, life assurance and discounted private healthcare.
