(flexibility required and working outside of office hours will be necessary when on client visits and to meet client’s expectations from time-to-time).

Agents, Agricultural Consultants and Auctioneers in the East Midlands.

They are an independent multi-disciplinary firm of property experts advising and acting for clients across a full range of residential, commercial, rural land and property matters. Their skilled and dedicated rural specialists work across the sector’s many land & property disciplines with the knowledge, experience, insight and connections to offer the quality of informed and considered advice only an independent firm can give.

Job Overview

An exciting and diverse role providing business, strategic and technical advice, and farm management consultancy to a wide range of farm businesses across the East Midlands.

The role requires an individual who is currently working within farming/farm management with outstanding numeracy skills, a keen interest in farming and natural business acumen.
You will be focussed on helping farming businesses to succeed and be able to work as part of a team and alone using your own initiative.
This new role is a result of our client's growing client base and will require you to support their existing consultants as well as developing your own clients.

Key Areas of Responsibility

You will be responsible for the successful delivery of farm consultancy to clients so that they achieve their overall business objectives.
You will provide advice and direction on ways to improve performance on a regular basis.

Carrying out a variety of work, from BPS applications to advising between yield and operating margins.
Estate management and all aspects of the rural world.

The position will be a mix between being out on farms but also having time in the office and includes:

  • Delivering high quality, financially sound advice to farming clients.
  • Supporting the rural team with strategic farm business management work.
  • Completing management accounts, budgets and business plans for a wide variety of farming, estates nd diversified businesses.
  • Managing relationships with existing and potential new clients.
  • Aiming to specialise in a particular sector and develop your own client base with full support from an existing team.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Either be a graduate with considerable practical farming experience or have obtained 2-3 years’ experience within the sector, either in consultancy or practical farming.
  • It is possible that you may also have your own farming business interests which you would like to continue alongside developing a consultancy career.
  • A degree in Agriculture and/or Farm Business Management or similar.
  • Be proficient in Excel and have excellent numeracy skills.

  • Have a keen interest in farming and clear business acumen.
  • Excellent communicator, with ability to interact within the business and with clients.
  • Have integrity, honesty, and an eagerness to work for the good of the company.
  • Self-motivated, able to work alone and within a small team, capable of managing workloads and deadlines, as well as working with own initiative.
