Road Freight Operations Coordinator

Our client, a multi-national, freight forwarder now has a vacancy for an Trailer Freight Operations Clerk based in St Albans. Your role will be to manage the day-to-day European trailer freight export and import operations as well as building relationships with potential and existing clients and ensuring that a high standard of customer care is prevalent at all times.

Duties and responsibilities

Duties of the role:
* Managing the day to day export and import bookings of Trailer/TIR Freight shipments.
* Raising job files and all of the appropriate paperwork.
* Raising / processing the necessary customs clearance.
* Processing the Road freight jobs.
* Extensive client liaison both written (email) and verbal (telephone).
* Extensive supplier liaison and negotiation.
* Internal liaison with the sales team assisting with quotations and service status information.
* Invoicing jobs on completion.
Experience / skills required
* Trailer/TIR/Road freight operations experience.
* Customer service experience with the ability to build strong relations.
* Experience of calculating freight quotations.
* Negotiating skills to maximise gross profit.
* Strong organisational and administration skills.
* Good IT Skills.

Salary/Benefits

* Salary £30,000 to £40,000c
* Contributory Pension
* 22 days holiday plus Bank Holidays
* 0830 - 1730 Monday to Friday
