My client, a leading payments platform based in London, is actively seeking a dynamic and experienced Risk Director to join their team. If you have Merchant onboarding, risk management experience and deep technical knowledge of schemes then get in touch!

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement robust risk management strategies and frameworks tailored to the payments industry, with a focus on merchant onboarding.
- Lead and oversee the risk assessment and due diligence processes for merchant partners, ensuring compliance with payments schemes and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams including Legal, Compliance, and Operations to ensure alignment on risk mitigation strategies and initiatives.
- Monitor and analyze emerging risks and trends in the payments landscape, providing proactive recommendations to senior management.
- Act as a subject matter expert on payments scheme requirements, guiding the organization in maintaining compliance and optimizing risk controls.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance risk management processes and capabilities.

Requirements:
- Extensive experience in risk management within the payments sector, with a strong understanding of payments schemes and regulations.
- Proven track record in developing and implementing effective risk management strategies, particularly in the area of merchant onboarding.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across departments.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to think analytically and make data-driven decisions.
- Ambitious and driven individual with a clear path to progression and growth within the organization.
