Qualified Residential Support Workers required across Shropshire to support children & young adults with EBD.
Your new company
Hays are currently working with a local children's care provider who specialise in supporting children and young adults with EBD and challenging behaviour. At present we are actively recruiting for multiple Qualified Residential Support Workers across multiple sites in Shropshire predominately based in Shrewsbury, Telford and Whitchurch. The key purpose of your new role will be providing high quality therapeutic care to young people through a structured, nurturing approach.
Your new role
You will be responsible for a variety of key duties, but will be predominately providing high levels of day to day care and support to children and young people. You will always be expected to present yourself in a professional manner and work in line with care and placement plans. You will also have other responsibilities such as running day to day leisure activities, undertaking training programmes, applying safeguarding practices and to build the self-esteem of the children you support through the high standards of care you will provide on a daily basis.
What you'll need to succeed
You will hold a minimum of 6 months experience working in Residential Children's Services or a minimum of 2 years' experience working in a relevant environment within the care industry. A positive, passionate, dedicated and willing personality and mind set is recommended due to the nature of the role and the care you will provide. You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to form positive relationships with children and young people. You must also possess one of the following qualifications;
- NVQ Care Level 3
- NVQ Caring for Children and Young People Level 3
- Level 3 NVQ in Health and Social Care - Children and Young People
- Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People's Workforce: Social Care Pathway
- Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare (England)
- Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care -Children and Young People for Wales and NI.
Applicants must have their own vehicle and a full clean driving licence.
