Residential Support Worker - Oastler House, Leeds

We are looking for someone who is motivated, enthusiastic, creative, non judgemental and hardworking. We would like to employ someone who has an understanding of safeguarding and understanding of the role. We look for candidates who show willing to learn and people that have an understanding of behaviour management.
Oastler House is a Tier 3 Complex Needs home which can provide short, medium & long term care for 3 young people who have experienced significant behavioural, emotional and social difficulties and who require high levels of support in a structured environment to ensure that their needs are properly met. The service provides therapeutic interventions to teams and young people where required, to support young people to develop resilience and understand their behaviours.
The home is situated in a small suburb of Leeds with a large park a short walk from the home a number of small shops and a supermarket. Only a short bus ride from Oastler House is Leeds city Centre. The home provides good access to local facilities of a varied nature to young people and the staff team are proactive in supporting young people to gain access.

Must be over 21 or over
Driving licence – desirable
Level 3 Health and Social Care preferred but not essential
Experience working with young people would be advantageous.

No day is the same but you will:-

- Provide support and care to each individual
- Provide encouragement when getting ready for education
- Travel with the residents (Use of Company Car)
- Complete care planning/ paperwork
- Complete Task Sheets
- Complete Meal Preparation
- Organise and facilitate social activities
- Maintain the home (cleaning, laundry and shopping etc.)
- Maintain home management
- Liaise with external stakeholders and our own multi-disciplinary team

Salary ranges
Inexperienced staff = £7.65 p/h
Post probation = £7.80 p/h
Qualified = £8.30 p/h
Sleep In rate £20.00 (subject to review)

Shift pattern – Typical 2-week Rota
Monday – 7.30 am – 3.30 pm
Tuesday – Day off
Wednesday – 7.30 am – 11.00 pm sleep
Thursday – Day off
Friday – 7.30 am – 11.00 pm sleep
Saturday – Day off
Sunday – Day off
Monday – 3.00 pm – 11.00 pm - sleep
Tuesday – Day off
Wednesday – Day off
Thursday – 7.30 am – 11.00 pm sleep
Friday – Day off
Saturday – Day off
Sunday – 7.30 am – 11.00 pm sleep

- This is an example of a 2-week Rota and will not be the actual Rota given to yourself. All staff have different Rota’s to match the needs of the home.
- This will also include waking night shifts
- You will be given your Rota 3 weeks in advance.
