Salary: up to £26,000 per annum DOE.

Location: Towcester, Northamptonshire
This post is applicable to experienced and qualified members of staff who take on the responsibility for developing specific key tasks. Staff operating at this level will be expected to take on a strategic management role and perform the core elements relating to such.
The House Manager will operate in accordance with the general policies of Cambian Potterspury Lodge and will be immediately responsible to the Head of Care.
Assist in the assessment of service users’ needs and development of a placement plan, through a thorough assessment of needs which is established on entry to the school, reviewed on a regular basis and modified as required.
Formulation of home development systems to support working practice
Oversee the preparation, implementation and review of programmes for service users in accordance with their identified needs.
Ensure paperwork for all service users is up to date
Carry out monthly health and safety checks
Assist service users to deal with difficulties or particular vulnerabilities.
To assist, where necessary, in the provision of Intimate Care (Physical assistance or supervision for a service user which involves seeing, touching or other contact with the child’s normally clothed body, because of the child’s disability or care needs – eg assistance with toileting, washing, dressing or undressing, or administration of medication involving these.
Adhere to principles of working positively and sensitively to support the service users in our care.
Liaise effectively with outside partners (parents, placing agencies etc) as necessary, including attendance at Reviews and home visits, where appropriate.
Provide and demonstrate to others a high standard of personal, physical care for service users, particularly in the areas of safety, health and hygiene.
Keep appropriate records and report as necessary on the above core elements, as required.
Assist in preparing reports for Social Service Reviews, supporting staff in writing review reports.
Deputise for more senior staff if required.
Supply the Manager with a monthly report which contains relevant facts and information as requested.
To assist in the transportation of service users and to undertake escort duties when required.
To undertake any such other duties as may be reasonably be required by Cambian Directors, Principal or Registered Manager
Plan, allocate, review and evaluate work practices carried out by individuals and self, including service users.
develop team, individuals and self to enhance performance and meet organisational standards and objectives, including providing support to staff.
Ensure other staff adhere to principles of working positively to support the service users in our care.
Create, maintain and enhance effective working relationships with individuals and teams.
Ensure that the requirements of the National Minimum Standards/Care Standards are met or exceeded. This to include plans for improvement.
To manage formal supervision of staff and contribute to performance management.
To take responsibility for agreed, regular ‘on call’ duties in consultation with the Principal/Registered Manager
To meet regularly with Senior Management to discuss developments, individuals (staff and service users), problem solve and feedback.
To take an active role in the development of home development plans.

Ability to use I.T. confidently
Ability to form appropriate professional relationships with service users and others involved in their care.
Ability to lead a shift if required
Ability to plan, organise and evaluate activities appropriate to service users’ needs and skills.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Full UK Manual Driving Licence is essential to apply for this role.
