Resettlement Worker

Resettlement Workers required in Greater Manchester on an ongoing, temporary basis with temp to perm opportunities available.

Our client is based in Salford with a number of dispersed properties within this area, as well as Rochdale, Bury and Stockport, so the successful applicant will require a driving licence with access to their own vehicle.

Key responsibilities:

• Assess and process new applications to the accommodation, advising new tenants on their short-hold tenancy agreement, tenant handbook and other relevant policies/procedures.
• Pre-admission property inspections and void property management, as well as inspecting current tenant properties on a regular basis.
• Supporting tenants to access key services including DWP, bank accounts, health, housing and education.
• Liaising with key stakeholders and external agencies on behalf of tenants, such as the Home Office, Social Services, GPs, Benefits and Health Visitors.
• Working directly with individuals to help them gain the knowledge and skills to be able to sustain a tenancy independently.
• Reporting any required repairs/maintenance work within properties and keeping tenants updated on progress.

What you'll need to succeed

• Experience of working with vulnerable groups facing a range of social issues such as homelessness, asylum seekers and refugees
• Good knowledge of housing and welfare benefits, and understanding of relevant housing & homelessness legislation
• Experience of networking and using a multi-agency approach
• Driving licence with access to your own vehicle
• Subject to Enhanced DBS check
