Are you looking for a diverse role that is fun, stimulating and rewarding every day?

Creative Support is looking for warm, caring and proactive Support Workers to provide person centred care and support at our respite service in the St Helens area. Thyme Lodge is a beautiful modern detached house in the heart of a residential area of Clockface in St Helens. The house is built over 2 floors with 5 en-suite bedrooms, communal lounge, conservatory, sensory room and an open plan kitchen and diner.

This service provides planned respite care to adults aged 18 years and over with learning disabilities, mental health support needs and physical and sensory disabilities. As a Support Worker you will be responsible for providing our service users with personalised care and support in a relaxed homely environment, allowing users to develop and sustain new friendships whilst learning new skills. No two days will be the same at this service as we support our service users to follow their passions and engage in a range of stimulating activities including: day trips to Blackpool, local safari parks and picnics in the park. Annual events are also held at the service which include summer fayres, BBQ’s, Christmas parties and lots more!

Support Worker Duties:

  • A commitment to making a positive difference in individuals’ lives
  • Develop and sustain warm and trusting relationships with service users
  • Carry out general administrative duties and housing management tasks
  • Provide support to individuals with domestic tasks and daily living skills such as cooking, cleaning, housework and other personal care
  • Some shifts may be lone working, although generally we work as part of a small team and have an on-site management team who complete shifts as part of their rota

We are looking for candidates from all walks of life. Previous care experience is essential for this role, as is a passion for providing person-centred care and support in a bright, friendly environment! Full training is provided by our Creative Support Training Academy, as is the opportunity to work towards QCF Diploma in Health and Social Care.

The service is located within a 15 minute walk of Lea Green train station and there are several bus routes that pass by from the St Helens area. There is also parking on site for staff and due to the nature of the role a valid driver’s license is essential.

As a Creative Support Bank Staff member, you will have access to our free app, which allows you to pick up shifts in any area of the country and provides information on the service, including directions. You will be paid weekly.
