Your new companyWe are recruiting for a Registered Manager for some of our most vulnerable children and young people. This is an exciting time to join our service, which puts the individual at the heart of our work. This new provision is an opportunity to be innovative in the way we understand the needs of this important group of young people. This multi-professional model will work from a strength-based (Signs of Safety) and trauma-informed approach, meeting the needs of children, young people, and their families.

Your new roleYou will need to demonstrate excellent leadership and management skills, ensuring that the settings meet all regulatory standards to provide excellent quality of care for children and young people. The aim is to understand their needs more completely and secure a pathway or placement able to meet their needs. You will need to be able to meet the requirements of The Regulated Services Regulations. Developing and maintaining positive working relationships with children, young people, families, members of the community, social workers and agencies.

  • Co-ordinating, attending and chairing meetings as required and ensuring that meetings are conducted in a manner which promotes inclusion and achievement of objectives
  • Ensuring the homes comply and act upon any improvements identified under current legislation and guidance in relation to Health and Safety, fire safety, environmental health and any standards set by the food standards agencies.
  • Promoting personal and professional development by ensuring that each member of staff has a personal development plan, attends training and receives supervision.
  • Ensuring the professional competence of the staff team is maintained. Providing guidance and taking appropriate action depending on the circumstances.


What you'll need to succeedAs Registered Manager, you will need significant experience of working in a residential Child Care setting at a senior or management level. Experience of performance management frameworks with excellent communication skills. Knowledge of best practice in residential child care.

  • Good IT skills and an ability to use various databases.
  • The ability to work under pressure to meet objectives within tight timescales.
  • Leadership skills (Communication, planning, organising, supporting and motivating staff)
