Role is home based, covering major cities
Our client is a significant sales division within a major multinational manufacturing group and world leader in the provision of power management products and solutions. It has a large footprint of operations and selling companies in the UK and in this division there is a multiple SKU product offering which is sold though specialist UK wholesale and distribution channels. This is a senior sales management role carrying responsibility for leading and developing a sales team of c20 colleagues covering the UK central region which spreads from the M62 corridor to the Home Counties. This is a large region which has significant potential for growth and is supported by a strong pipeline of innovative new products coming through. Given the home based office location and the travel commitments inherent in the role, there is some flexibility on your location within the region. You will form part of the senior leadership team, implement the business strategy, deliver sales growth through leadership, coaching, mentoring and ensuring that sales KPI’s are achieved with a winning sales team mentality being the outcome. The sales culture operates through a strong relationship based approach within the wholesale and distribution network and you will also be personally involved in key customer relationships. The existing sales team is very experienced and well established and a high calibre individual with the gravitas, experience and team leadership capabilities for a role such as this is essential. You will be looking for a long term career opportunity and have the headroom to grow in this world-class group. You are likely to be graduate qualified with a progressive career to date within sales and sales management and specific experience in distribution, wholesale and third party sales channels is essential. Whilst experience in electrical products would be advantageous, other areas of interest include specialist distributors of components or sub-assemblies, IT products or possibly FMCG products. To some extent the client is open minded on this aspect as it will be your world-class training in sales leadership, your proven track record, qualities as an individual and your ability to lead a very experienced team whilst also managing growth that will impress.
