Responsibilities as a Receptionist

  • Brand ambassador via client experience
  • Answering the phone and taking messages professionally, efficiently, and promptly
  • The first point of contact for clients and external visitors - meet & greet.
  • Responsible for the preparation of all meeting rooms and maintenance of client areas throughout the day.
  • Post duties - transfer to our electronic system and distribution to the correct Partner / Manager
  • Scanning
  • Managing storage of and return of client's records.
  • Supplier orders e.g. stationery, kitchen supplies etc
  • Kitchen tidiness, including loading & unloading of dishwasher at start of day and as appropriate to ensure sufficient crockery for visitors etc.
  • Ad hoc tasks to support the secretaries &/or office manager, as required, to support the smooth running of the Practice.

Experience / Skills

  • Previous receptionist experience in a busy professional organisation is essential, with experience of working in an accountancy practice &/or finance focused business an advantage.
  • Professional friendly manner always
  • Strong customer care skills to support the organisation.
  • Confident and capable communicator both with colleagues and clients
  • Positive 'can do' attitude, with good initiative to support continuous improvement.
  • Self-motivated, even though repetitive tasks.
  • Good team player
  • Competent literacy & numeracy, plus previous use of Office 365 and proficient typing skills. Need to be very comfortable with changing technology. We are a forward-thinking, high-tech Practice.
  • Quick to learn and implement new tasks.
  • Attention to detail; right first time.
  • Capable of using own initiative to enable working with minimal supervision after initial training.
  • Ability to prioritize and work calmly under pressure to manage efficiently a busy workload.
  • Multi-tasking essential


  • Plenty of CSR supporting local community/events.
  • Regular social events remotely or otherwise.

Job Title: Receptionist

Location: Hove

Salary: £22,500pa dependent on experience (Salary reviewed annually in March)

Full Time: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5pm
