Reading & Literacy Tutor | Ilkeston, DE7 | £100 - £125 per day | Asap Start | 3 Days Per week | Part Time | Fixed Term

LTF Recruitment are working with our partner secondary school in Ilkeston (DE7) to appoint a Reading & Literacy Tutor to run small intervention groups as part of the school's phonics and reading skills programme. There will be no more than 4 students per group & full training is provided. This is a flexible role, as the school are looking for a tutor to work with students 3 days per week, and these days can be chosen by the selected candidate.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Support KS3 & KS4 students with their reading and literacy skills
  • Delivering small group intervention sessions (groups are no bigger than 4)
  • Supporting students working below their expected reading & literacy levels
  • Work collaboratively with the school's literacy coordinator to implement effective support strategies
  • Undergo training on the schools chosen literacy intervention programme (Lexonix Leap & Lexonik Advance)
  • Analyse data and group students based on this data to identify intervention students

Requirements:

  • A confident and competent educator, with experience as a tutor or similar
  • Excellent communicator, able to build relationships with students quickly
  • Able to support students in small groups of up to 4
  • Committed to improving students reading and literacy levels
