Freelance Quantity Surveyor required in Dorset.

Operating across the South of England.

£400 - £450 per day

Typical working hours will be 8am-4pm, Monday-Friday.

The successful candidate will be expected to offer some flexibility as required.

The role:

The role of QS is key to the company's future development and success in delivering projects.
You will demonstrate broad commercial skills and a strong background, whilst understanding the commercial drivers, risk profiles and key success factors for Clients procuring construction/civils works.

As quantity surveyor you will be responsible but not limited to the following:

* Managing multiple projects at once
* Ensuring that the financial aspects and impact of a contract are clear to management.
* Providing detailed financial reports i.e. budget monitoring, cost & value etc.
* Ensure the maintenance of auditable records relating to all relevant aspects of the company's operations, including those pertinent to specific projects.
* Have clear responsibility for the management of cost and value.
* Provide accurate progress reporting for site works.
* Ensure the effective management of all projects under your control is carried out in accordance with client requirements, current legislation and industry standards.
* Be aware and understand the implications of health and safety regulations and the necessity to factor as a cost.
* Drafting contractual summaries for site to follow
* Preparation and issue of contractual letters to clients and / or sub-contractors
* Post contract liaison with clients
* Preparation and submission of interim valuations and final accounts
* Site measurement physical measure
* Manage and value variations contractually.
* Agreement and certification of sub-contractors' interim valuations and final accounts

Academic Qualifications Required:
* Relevant degree level qualification
* CSCS Competency
* Full UK Driving Licence
* System Element Responsibility:
Championing;
* Renovate relevant sections of the PLCE management systems
* Ensure accurate and live commercial information/files/reports/software associated with the tasks outlined in this job description are in the management system.

Experience Level(s) Required:
* Five years' experience in the performance of duties outlined within this job description.
* Previous experience working with Sub-Contractors
* Proficient in all Microsoft office excel, word, project
* Excellent contractual knowledge desirable
