Quantity Surveyor
Overview
You will be working with a development team based in Manchester covering the North West, working between the office and sites. Your place of work would be split between the office and site depending on the project you’re placed on.
MCR Property Group are a national real estate business with its own in-house development company with residential, commercial and industrial schemes ranging from £5m - £100m. We have offices in Manchester, Birmingham, London and soon a presence in Bristol giving plenty of opportunity to grow with the company.
This is an exciting time to be joining MCR with a large capital investment into buying land with and without planning permission.
We currently have a plan to grow in the next few years and seek motivated people with construction experience to grow with us.

- Developer of Private Sector projects using traditional and design and build forms of contract

- Demolition, extension, alteration and remodelling to existing facilities

Position
As a Project QS or Senior QS you will provide residential, commercial and industrial expertise and support / be responsible for the financial delivery of the assigned projects to ensure that they are procured and delivered within budget, to programme.
You will be reporting to the Senior Commercial Manager and Construction Director running monthly reports, costings, contract / sub-contract packages and variations. There will be a team of Project Managers working alongside you on these projects. Primarily office based with site visits for meetings and valuations dependant on your level and location.
Essential criteria:
- Strong understanding of the sub contract procurement process
- Minimum 3 years’ QS experience working on a range of projects and values
- Have worked for a developer, main contractor or sub-contractor
- Experience of both pre and post contract administration including preparing cost plans,
estimates, measurement for bills of quantities, tendering & procurement, value engineering, tender reporting, valuations and final accounts - Wide knowledge of Construction Industry processes and procedures
- Technical knowledge of building materials, techniques and systems
- Computer literate - excel/word/etc.
- Hold a full clean driving licence
