Fairways is delighted to be working exclusively with Bentleys shop fitting to recruit a Quantity Surveyor to be based in their head office in Dundee.
Bentleys are a Bespoke Joinery Manufacturer and Interior Fit Out Specialist, who over the past 25 years have gained an excellent reputation for the quality products they manufacture, which are complimented by the first class fit out service they provide.
This role is particularly suited to a recently qualified Quantity Surveyor where career progression and professional development is encouraged.
As a Quantity Surveyor you will be joining a friendly, capable and hardworking commercial team. The team manage a high number of internal fitout projects and the successful candidate will work with the Senior Surveyor to manage all aspects of projects allocated to them from award to completion of client and prepare subcontractor final accounts.
Some experience working within the construction industry as a Quantity Surveyor is preferred but it is more important that the successful candidate is eager to develop and is hardworking, willing to learn and ready to take the next step in their career.

Responsible for timeous preparation and submission of valuations and subsequent invoicing
Submission of final accounts
Agreement of final accounts
Calculation variations and quotations post contract
Regular submission of cost updates to clients and /or design teams
Prepare cost and value advice for Senior Quantity Surveyors cost reporting and forecasting
Prepare post completion financial reports for review of project performance against estimate/tender
- Numerical and IT Skills (Word, Excel, email and Access)
Ability to interpret drawings and measure quantities
Communicate effectively and appropriately with clients/architects/suppliers/setters out/sub-contractors/in-house staff (phone, email, correspondence, meetings)
Excellent interpersonal and persuasive communicator
Health and safety - intermediate understanding
- Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines
Experience & Qualifications
The successful candidate will have up to 2 years’ experience working in a construction environment
HND / Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying / Commercial Management
