Quantity Surveyor - Sustainable Residential Projects

Salary - £50,000 - £70,000

Job description

  • Estimating and Commercially Managing larger Projects
  • Responsible for carrying out tender assessments, producing tender packages for sub-contractors, services providers and suppliers.
  • Analyse quotations for compliance with specification and considering best value for money. Completing Pre-tender Qualifications Questionnaires (PQQ’s) and appending company information into packages.
  • Pricing work streams taking into account Labour durations, costs of Materials, plant hire and applying overheads and profit costs to allow for accurate and competitive tender sums ready for review and discussions with the commercial team.
  • Negotiate Sub-Contractor packages, placement of orders and the issuing of payment certificates. Producing monthly interim applications, agreeing variations and Final Account sums.
  • Producing monthly Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR’s) reports for the Commercial Manager.
  • Building, developing, and maintaining Value Engineering (VE) Pricing Tool for use in estimating within the company.

Role Requirements

  • undergraduate degree accredited by the RICS in quantity surveying, commercial management or a related construction subject
  • or a postgraduate conversion course (usually a PgDip or a masters) accredited by RICS.
  • Numeracy
  • Good IT skills and the ability to learn how to use specialist software.
  • Excellent relationship-building and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work in a team.
  • Negotiation skills.
  • Attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
