Job Title: Quantity Surveyor - Rail

Location: London



Position Overview:


Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team and play a key role in their multi-million-pound CP7 framework projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of projects, ensuring cost efficiency, and maintaining compliance with NEC contracts. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with a proven track record in quantity surveying within the utilities sector to contribute to high-profile projects.

This is a freelance, 6 month contract (with potential for an extension)

There is the option of outside IR35, pending the correct assessment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the financial aspects of utilities infrastructure projects within the multi-million-pound network framework.
  • Prepare, review, and monitor budgets, ensuring cost control and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with project teams to provide timely and accurate cost advice.
  • Administer NEC contracts and ensure compliance throughout project life cycles.
  • Prepare and negotiate contractual agreements, variations, and final accounts.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement strategies to mitigate financial risks.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to optimise project cost-effectiveness.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
  • Experience working on a similar contract.
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in civil engineering projects, specifically within the rail sector.
  • Thorough understanding and practical application of NEC contracts.
  • Proficient in cost estimation, budget management, and financial reporting.
