Quant Python Software Engineer - Research Platforms

I am currently working with a London-based financial-services client who are actively seeking a Quant Python Software Engineer to work on the development of a business-critical research and analytics platform.

Overview
This role sits between quantitative research and software engineering, focused on transforming research models and analytics into scalable, production-grade software. You'll work closely with quants and researchers, applying strong Python engineering skills and a product-focused mindset to build robust, reliable platforms used across the business.

Rate: Up to £1100pd Umbrella
Duration: Initial 6-month contract
Location: London-based hybrid working

Key requirements

• Strong Python software engineering experience building production-grade applications, platforms or products
• Experience working within quantitative research, portfolio analytics, factor investing, risk, scientific computing or similar analytical environments
• Proven experience taking research, models, notebooks or prototypes and producing them into scalable software solutions
• Experience building systems that support data analysis, simulations, computational research or quantitative workflows
• Strong engineering mindset with the ability to challenge requirements, drive best practice and build reliable, enterprise-scale products rather than one-off solutions
