Quality Controller (Nights)

Start Date: As soon as possible

Salary: £15.03/hr or £30,000 approx

Hours: Tuesday to Friday 6.30pm - 5.30am

Location: Near Ely

Responsibilities:

Are you passionate about ensuring top-quality products meet customer specifications? We are seeking a dedicated Quality Control Specialist to optimise manufacturing functions and drive quality performance. Responsibilities include:

  • Optimising manufacturing functions to ensure top-quality products.
  • Improving quality and yield performance to meet customer specifications.
  • Nurturing the factory team to deliver the best quality standards.
  • Being a key member of the team fostering a Food Safety and Quality Culture.
  • Improving employee engagement.
  • Delivering departmental KPIs and objectives while maintaining audit readiness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilise the Food Safety Quality Management System to ensure product safety, legality, and quality.
  • Maintain online quality control of products and follow company policies regarding hygiene and safety.
  • Perform Raw Material Intake Analysis and communicate findings to relevant teams.
  • Conduct product quality assessments online and restrict any out-of-specification products.
  • Ensure all documentation is accurate and highlight any non-conformances.
  • Conduct shelf-life assessments and guide grading to maximise crop utilization.
  • Practice good housekeeping and set an example by following policies and procedures.

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Quality performance, ensuring raw materials meet specifications.
  • Accurate completion of QC Tests within the ERP System.
  • Reporting Near Misses and maintaining no non-conformances in audits.

Additional Responsibilities / Skills:

Finance:

  • Manage company resources to maintain cost controls.

Health and Safety and Wellbeing:

  • Promote a Food Safety and Quality Culture.
  • Observe Company health, safety, and wellbeing rules.
  • Take steps to promote health, safety, and wellbeing at work.

Security and Data Protection:

  • Maintain Company image and adhere to GDPR regulations regarding data protection.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1 year working in a QA role within a fresh produce environment.
  • Basic computer literacy, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Navision/ERP.
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Positive behavior attributes according to the framework.
