We have an exciting Locum Social Work Opportunity based within a Cared for Children service in the Tameside, Greater Manchester area. The team work with young people who are subject to care orders or section 20 accommodated aged from 0-18 years.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for a caseload of more complex cases, providing advice to other social workers in relation to their cases.
• Work directly with young people using a range of knowledge, skills and interventions as required, in accordance with statutory responsibilities to secure positive outcomes for young people.
• Build effective relationships with children, young people and their families enabling full participation in assessment, planning, review and decision making.
• Effectively manage a caseload, with varying degrees of complexity dependent upon skills and length of experience, with appropriate supervision, guidance and support.
• On duty on a 4 week rota, need to be office based during this time

To be considered for the Social Worker, ideally you will have:

• 2+ years' experience of working within a similar setting
• Diploma/Degree in Social Work
• Registration with Social Work England
