The Company

Our client is a market leader in the food/ drink manufacturing sector. Recent growth has led to their current requirement for a QA Manager.

The Role

  • Will be responsible for the delivery and administration of the site food safety programme and will contribute to the site auditing calendar for both internal and external audits.
  • This role contains an element of NPD which will involve delivery of the quality compliance and trial processes to maximize the success of internal and customer projects.
  • This role will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of plant performance and key business objectives relating to all quality related standards and issues, alongside delivering the quality strategy plan for continuous improvement on performance and service.
  • Supporting technical input on packaging development projects from concept.
  • Ensure all project work is compliant.
  • Plan, execute and report on trials to support the overall business.
  • Create testing plans and reports.
  • Assure quality compliance through adherence to the quality management system, auditing, change control and site systems.
  • Co-ordinate the verification, calibration and maintenance of process and quality control equipment.
  • Track and maintain the site HACCP system and all associated documentation.
  • Lead the internal food safety review calendar for all change activities relating to product pack and process.
  • Co-ordinate all site activities to control and rectify all non-conformances.

The Person

  • You will hold a Food safety qualification-level 3 or 4 ideally.
  • Must have previous QA Supervisory experience within the food sector.
  • NPD experience beneficial.
  • Microbiology experience preferred.
  • An awareness and understanding of HACCP and audit exposure will be a definite advantage.
  • Flexibility and a positive "can do" attitude is essential as the business is fast paced and ever changing.
  • The role demands a people person with effective communication skills and IT literacy.
