QA Analyst (Based in Gibraltar - Offering Relocation Package)

Role Purpose

The QA Analyst will carry out testing across all Ladbrokes Coral verticals and websites. Working closely with internal and external teams the QA Analyst will ensure a world class experience is delivered to the customer at the point of release. The QA Analyst will work on multitude of projects and BAU work streams as per the testing schedule prioritised as per the business needs.

On a daily basis the QA Analyst’ responsibilities are to make sure that testing is well defined, planned and executed by ensuring that every phase and feature of the software solution is tested and that any potential issue is identified and fixed before the product goes live. The QA Analyst will be responsible for raising quality defects where the defects and fully understood and well explained.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute test plans and scenarios for all products and websites in line with the development and roadmap schedules in order to provide a smooth path to live for the products under test
  • Document all instances of testing defects and provide timely reporting for the business to make an informed decision on future changes
  • Ensure defects are well written including detailed steps, expected and actual results and provide videos and screenshots where possible
  • Create and implement tests to cover use of promotions and marketing materials to ensure key customer journeys are not affected
  • Create, implement and maintain test data based on assigned projects and ensure test data is ready prior to testing where possible
  • Create and execute all test scripts ensuring agreed coverage is met and provide execution reports when needed by the business
  • Log, report and monitor progress on all defect fixes including daily, weekly or monthly reports to the key stake holders as per the business needs in order to achieve transparency and progress on tasks
  • Escalate any problems with defect fixes to the QA Leads and Managers as per agreed processes and help investigate defects for a resolutio
  • Provide management reports on the progress of all testing, including defect fixes to various stakeholders in order for business to make informed decisions on future changes
  • Produce internal training end user documentation for sign offs from the trainee and line manager in order to train and mentor junior colleagues
  • Build and maintain strong and clear communications, both face to face and in writing, with the development teams to ensure timely turnaround of all defects
  • Work with product vertical teams to ensure that test plans are agreed upon and signed off, adhering to the test strategy at all times by attending daily or weekly meetings and updating tickets on internal systems as an when needed
  • Work closely with application development, architecture, infrastructure and engineering groups to establish QA testing needs and processes in order to fulfil all agreed business needs
  • Provide insight into QA bottlenecks across Ladbrokes Coral digital products by leveraging the use of automation and performance testing needs and working closely with the software engineering development in test teams in order to achieve them
  • Identify test scenarios by working with development and incident teams and implement them in a timely and agreed manner
  • Provide estimations where needed to ensure the business is provided with an expected completion date for project and BAU activities
  • Collate data in relation to estimation versus actual completion time and use this data to drive more accurate estimations for the business going forward
  • Communicate with third party suppliers on defect management and support any queries to have the defects reach a resolution in order to deliver releases as per the roadmap
  • Deal with production incidents and support testing on production including post-production sanity tests
  • Ensure product test scripts are meeting compliance requirements and keep the scripts up-to-date at all times so that no compliance issues are seen post-production
  • Ensure all reports are reported as per the agreed templates and archived for audit purposes including any copies of relevant materials and emails
  • Meet deadlines by ensuring testing activities are completed on times as agreed with the business and escalate any issues if deadlines cannot be met
  • On a monthly basis verify and revise quality assurance standards to keep them in accord to changing products and business needs
  • Communicate test progress, test results, and all relevant information to project stakeholders and management on a frequency as agreed with the business
  • Make recommendations for improvement in products where needed and feedback any suggestions from the team
  • Provide cover with an hands on approach during team absences or workload issues
  • Follow all HR procedures in terms of sickness, lateness, bereavement etc.

Games Delivery

  • Follow complete cycle of new games delivery which includes administration, testing, reporting, escalating and liaising.
  • Document all instances of testing defects and provide timely reporting to relevant parties
  • Escalate and follow up all defects raised during testing to relevant parties and make sure fixes are reviewed and accepted
  • Support investigation of defects when needed
  • Make changes in CMS and publish them in through to live environments
  • Complete all admin tasks and schedule games in time in order to hit KPIs on games delivery

Qualifications and Educational Requirements

  • Technology related degree Level or higher Qualification
  • ITIL or similar certified
  • ISEB Foundation in Software Testing

Specialist Skills and Experience Required

  • Ability to understand business and functional requirements and to perform requirements analysis
  • Analytical and reporting skills
  • Ability to learn and optimise new system environments (both internal, 3rd party and the interfaces between)
  • Ability to work in a flexible and agile environment
  • Interest in sports betting and bet placement advantageous
  • Knowledge of different game types and suppliers is desirable
