Python/Quant Developer

Your new companyA highly regarded technology and quantitative development team is looking to hire a Python Quant Developer to support the design, development and delivery of business-critical trading, pricing and analytics platforms. Working in a fast-paced engineering environment, you will collaborate closely with quantitative analysts, traders and technology teams to deliver robust solutions that directly impact front-office business functions.
Your new roleAs a Python/Quant Developer, you will be responsible for building and delivering high-performance applications, analytics tools and platform integrations across the full software development life cycle. This is not a siloed development role. The team is looking for engineers who take ownership from initial design and development through testing, deployment and production support.
You'll work within a lean engineering environment where developers are expected to contribute across a broad range of activities, including platform integration, automation, cloud technologies, CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tooling. The successful candidate will be comfortable working beyond pure coding responsibilities and supporting the successful delivery of solutions into production.This role would suit someone who enjoys solving complex technical and quantitative problems whilst maintaining a strong engineering mindset and willingness to get involved wherever required.
What you'll need to succeed

• Strong Python development experience within a quantitative, trading, financial markets or data-intensive environment.
• Experience building pricing, risk, analytics, trading or quantitative applications.
• Excellent software engineering fundamentals and experience delivering production-grade applications.
• Demonstrable experience owning projects throughout the full life cycle, from development through to production deployment.
• Experience working in agile or lean engineering teams where individuals are expected to contribute across multiple disciplines.
• Exposure to cloud platforms, infrastructure automation, containerisation, CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Experience integrating with data platforms, APIs, analytics engines or enterprise systems.
• Understanding of production support, release management and operational ownership.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to learn new technologies, frameworks and tools quickly.
• Previous experience collaborating directly with quants, traders, business stakeholders or platform teams would be highly beneficial.
• Mathematical, quantitative or financial markets knowledge is advantageous, although equally strong candidates may come from a highly technical engineering background with exposure to quantitative systems.
