 Purchasing and Logistics Supervisor – Weymouth



An ever-growing and leading roofing and construction manufacturer are seeking a Purchasing and Logistics Supervisor to join them in the beautiful area of Weymouth. You will play a pivotal role in the day to day running of the logistics department ensuring all functions are executed effectively and efficiently, including the implementation of Quality Manuals to ISO standard,

The Key Responsibilities:

• Supervision of the Logistics Assistant, providing guidance, support, and development

• Stock control, advising Purchasing & Logistics Manager of low stock levels and high product turnover.

• Raising Purchase orders.

• Along with the Warehouse staff conduct regular stock takes on products, highlighting any known issues beforehand.

• Investigate any stock shortages, raising credits and stock adjustments where applicable

• Supporting the development of logistics processes and process mapping with regards to environment, quality, customer satisfaction, cost and efficiency and problem solving

• A key responsibility associated with this role will be to continue to implement, develop and update the Quality Manual, recording DOP’s and internal quality checks on products.

• Raising Non-Conformance reports and following up to a satisfactory conclusion

• Ensuring transport requirements and procedures are adhered too.

• To comply with Company Policy regarding Health & Safety and training

• Flexibility within working hours to accommodate unavoidable delays regarding delivery timings and collections.

• Maintaining records for all systems and utilizing bespoke IT programmes

• Along with all team members, monitor and maintain housekeeping in the department, identify, eliminate, isolate, and minimise workplace hazards.

• Assist with annual Company Stock Takes

Requirements:

• Ideally 2+ years of experience in purchasing or logistics within warehouse environment.

• Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.

• Good at prioritising with a “can do” attitude.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Outlook & Excel

• Strong communication skills and customer service orientation

• Familiarity with logistics software and systems is desirable.



Benefits:

• Salary: £25,000 - £26,000 per annum dependent on experience.

• 28 days holiday + bank holiday, increasing to 35 days with service.
