Job Title: Purchasing and Project Support Coordinator

Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday - 9am - 5pm 

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience - £28,000 - £30,000 per annum 

People Solutions are pleased to be working with an engineering business based in Wednesbury who are looking to add to their team with a Purchasing and Project Support Co-Ordinator, with great prospects and working within a supportive company.

Day to Day Duties:

  • Read, interpret, and break down bespoke engineering drawings to identify and source required components
  • Manage purchasing activities, ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement of materials
  • Liaise with suppliers to obtain quotations, negotiate pricing, and meet quality and delivery requirements
  • Create and maintain project plans using Microsoft Project
  • Assist in the preparation, review, and maintenance of quality documents and certifications
  • Coordinate with internal departments to ensure effective communication across purchasing, quality, and production teams
  • Monitor and report on project progress, proactively addressing potential delays or issues
  • Maintain accurate purchasing and project support records, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards

Essential Skills:

  • Ability to confidently read and break down complex engineering drawings
  • Strong understanding of quality documentation within an engineering environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Previous experience in purchasing, supply chain, or project support within an engineering or manufacturing setting
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and organisational skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in bespoke manufacturing or project-based environments
  • Knowledge of ISO quality standards

Training:

  • Full training on internal systems and processes
  • Ongoing professional development and support
