Purchasing and Customer Service Co-ordinator

Responsibilities: 

  • Managing a varied and high level of workload within the Supply Chain department.
  • Processing Customer Orders and liaising with Account Managers.
  • Co-ordinating with logistics providers, customers and sub-contractors to ensure cost effective and timely movement of product. 
  • Purchase Order creation and processing for the business including production consumables.
  • As appropriate engage in supplier resolution and engagement activity. 
  • Working closely with the Planner/Scheduler to ensure supply issues are resolved immediately and that appropriate CAPA?s are developed to mitigate repetition. 
  • Provide cover for the Materials Procurement & Production Planning functions
  • To abide by all Health and Safety initiatives and protocols that are relevant to the site.

Additional Potential Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of Production Works Order documentation
  • Creating and amending Sales orders and Despatch Notes on the SAGE ERP system
  • Database Administration ? SAGE and Generic Windows based
  • Working with Supplier Quality to resolve supply/service issues in a timely manner in order to mitigate any risk to the production plans
  • Working with Account managers in discussions with customers regarding orders, potential orders and new business.

Essential skills/Essential experience/qualifications: 

  • Strong team player 
  • Basic knowledge of supply chain management in a manufacturing environment
  • Professional and positive approach
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Enthusiastic, proactive and adaptable in order to deal with complex supply chain challenges 
  • Personable and able to build a rapport at all levels 
  • Ability to prioritise a heavy workload and recognise business critical tasks 
  • Capability to digest information quickly and act decisively 
  • Good level of interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skills required
  • Tenacious, resilient and self-motivated 
  • Must be proficient in the use of MS Office and in particular possess strong Excel skills

Desirable Experience: 

  • MRP/Procurement via an ERP IT solution ideally SAGE 1000
  • Production Scheduling knowledge
  • Familiarity with the Quality systems associated with a highly regulated industry
