Purchase Ledger Supervisor Role Overview

NC Associates are working with a globally operating and multi-site business to support them with the recruitment of a Purchase Ledger Supervisor. The Purchase Ledger Supervisor will support The Purchase Ledger Manager in managing the day-to-day workload of a growing Purchase Ledger team across two  South Manchester offices.

Purchase Ledger Supervisor Role Responsibilities

  • Provide support in managing the workload for a growing team of 6 Purchase Ledger clerks.
  • Run daily reports to assist with the allocation of the team’s workflow and daily target setting.
  • Approve supplier bank details and oversee the maintenance of the Purchase Ledger standing data, ensuring that the necessary checks are made prior to setting up new suppliers.
  • Approve supplier payments on company Banking Systems.
  • Ensure that all team month end deadlines are met.
  • Identify and address any team training needs, ensuring that team members are up to date with their development plans.
  • Making recommendations and implementing any improvements to systems and controls as required.
  • Providing training to the team on best practice.
  • Assist the Purchase Ledger Manager with any project work, including data analysis.
  • Provide cover for the Purchase Ledger Manager during periods of annual leave and absence.
  • Travel between two South Manchester Offices as required to ensure support in both locations.

Purchase Ledger Supervisor Required Experience:

  • Previous experience of the end-to-end Purchase Ledger process, ideally in a Senior or Supervisory capacity.
  • Previous experience of working in a larger, multi-site business is highly advantageous.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to mentor and motivate a team.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks accordingly.
  • Ability to work to and manage a team to work to time sensitive deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience of delivering training and mentoring more junior team members.
  • Advanced IT and Excel skills
  • A positive outlook and approach with the ability to drive the team to work in the same manner.
  • A focus upon process improvements
