Immediate: Exclusive Temporary Purchase Ledger clerk

Location: South West of Nottingham, close to Beeston / Chilwell - office based

Benefits: £Excellent rate DOE and Car parking available

Length: 1 to 2 months

Hours of work: 9 to 5pm, Monday to Friday

Our client is working exclusively with Adecco, Nottingham for an immediate Temporary Purchase Ledger clerk.

In this position you will play a vital role in the finance department by managing the purchase ledger effectively. You will be responsible for accurately recording and processing all supplier invoices, reconciling statements, and resolving any discrepancies. This role requires strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to work efficiently within deadlines.

Responsibilities:

  1. Invoice Processing:
    • Receive and review supplier invoices, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
    • Code invoices to the appropriate accounts and cost centers.
    • Input invoice details into the accounting system accurately and promptly.
  1. Payment Processing:
    • Prepare payment runs in line with company policies and payment terms.
    • Reconcile supplier statements to ensure all invoices are accounted for and payments are up to date.
    • Respond to supplier queries regarding payment status and resolve any issues promptly.
  1. Record Maintenance:
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all purchase transactions.
  1. Communication and Collaboration:
    • Liaise with internal departments to obtain necessary approvals and resolve invoice discrepancies.
    • Communicate effectively with suppliers to address any queries or issues in a professional manner.
    • Collaborate with colleagues within the finance team to ensure smooth processing of transactions and accurate financial reporting.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience working in a similar role within a finance department.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.
  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
