Have you recently graduated from University with a 2:1 or better in Psychology?

Are you looking to gain experience working with children who have learning barriers, EBD or SEN?

Are you looking for a teaching assistant role with the potential to progress to teacher training, social work or educational psychology?

This outstanding Secondary School in Central London needs a Psychology Graduate to work with students who have Autism (ASD) and EBD.

The ideal applicant will have an extensive knowledge of emotional, social and behavioural difficulties, learnt through studying a degree in Psychology. While it is preferable to have experience working with challenging young people, if you are relishing the opportunity of gaining invaluable experience in this field then the role is suited to you. The ideal candidate will be both enthusiastic and passionate about the role and have the ability to positively engage students, form friendly relationships, and in turn inspire development and progression in students.

The pupils you will be working with may display extremely challenging behaviour. The role will involve supporting some pupils on a 1:1 basis as well as others within small groups.

As a Learning Mentor at this school you will be both supporting teaching and learning across the school as well as assisting EBD or SEN pupils throughout school life. Day-to-day, you will have the support of a SENCO that you can utilise and to your advantage and to help your progression. You will have the opportunity to lead booster and intervention groups, mentor pupils 1:1 and work in classes across the school. Your Learning Mentor duties will include working in indoor and outdoor learning spaces and other impressive departmental facilities as well as earning the respect of an inspirational Head of Department.
