Are you an independent and motivated individual who is looking for an exciting new role within the Social Care sector? We are recruiting for a Project Worker within the Northenden area, South Manchester!
You will be working within a forensic service, which is a specialist part of mental health services, supporting individuals who have higher levels of risk or detention in secure care or within the criminal justice service. The services themselves rent houses from the council and sublet these to their service users, making them feel like their very own homes! The service users are provided with 24-hour care. You will be given the service users\' file to read, which will contain sensitive information, e.g. information about their childhood, details about crimes which they may have committed. The service does have a Psychologist onsite as well, who is available for staff use.
Within this role, there will be no personal care involved, there is very much emotional support, whilst encouraging them to engage in activities within the service and the wider community. For example, some service users attend drama classes, are part of local football teams and take part in community volunteer groups. Shift patterns include 9am-4pm, 4pm-11pm, which finish at 9am the following day! As part of their staff, you will go on a 4-week rolling rota. The shifts are very flexible, so by no means do you have to do the same shifts each week.
They do require someone who is committed to working every other weekend too. What you can expect to receive:

  • You will receive 6 weeks paid annual leave (this does include sleepover enhancement).
  • £10.50 per hour; sleeps are paid at £50
  • A full Training programme with the opportunity to be put forward to complete your NVQ\'s
  • You will be paid £0.10p extra per hour if you are a current NVQ holder.

They are looking to recruit on competency and value-based assessment. You do not need to have experience within the Social Care field, but you need to have a good sense of humour and be outgoing! You must be able to sustain boundaries with the service users and hold a non-judgemental attitude.
You will be expected to have good organisation skills as you will be expected to plan different things whilst considering each service user\'s profile and the various risk assessments that come with that.
