A client based in Sweden is looking for several Project Planners with experience within the rail industry. This will be for an initial 12 month contract either working on site or HYBRID.

Project Planner plays critical role in ensuring the successful execution of rail projects from conception to completion. His responsibilities involve meticulous planning, scheduling, and coordination of various project activities to meet deadlines, budget constraints, and quality standards. He works closely with project managers, engineers, stakeholders, and subcontractors to develop comprehensive project plans and monitor progress throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Develop detailed project plans outlining tasks, timelines, resources, and dependencies.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
  • Utilize project management software/tools to create Gantt charts, schedules, and resource allocations.
  • Ensure project plans align with organizational goals, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
  • Establish and maintain project schedules, incorporating milestones, deadlines, and critical paths.
  • Identify potential schedule risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize delays.
  • Monitor project progress against established schedules and adjust plans as necessary.
  • Coordinate with project teams to resolve schedule conflicts and optimize resource utilization.
  • Work with project managers to identify resource requirements for each project phase.
  • Allocate resources efficiently to meet project objectives while optimizing costs.
  • Monitor resource utilization and identify opportunities for resource reallocation or optimization.
  • Collaborate with HR and procurement departments to ensure availability of required resources.
  • Identify potential project risks and uncertainties, including technical, financial, and operational factors.
  • Develop risk mitigation plans and strategies to minimize the impact of identified risks.
  • Regularly review risk registers and update mitigation plans based on changing project conditions.
  • Communicate risks and mitigation measures to project stakeholders to ensure awareness and alignment.
  • Facilitate regular project meetings to review progress, discuss issues, and make decisions.
  • Prepare and distribute project status reports, highlighting key milestones, achievements, and challenges.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams, subcontractors, clients, and regulatory authorities.
  • Provide timely updates to senior management on project performance, risks, and deviations from plans.

Skills

  • Proven experience in project planning and scheduling, preferably in the rail industry.
  • Proficiency in project management software/tools (e.g. Primavera, Microsoft Project, etc.)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Knowledge of rail industry regulations, standards, and practices
