The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day project management activities in relation to development of a new programme and other new programmes which may arise during the tenure of the role. The successful candidate will assist and work closely with the Project Lead(s) to develop and manage the project plan, track progress against specified deliverables and budgets, and ensure that successful outcomes are achieved.

Description

The key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and maintain an agreed project plan, detailed stage plans and associated controls, to deliver the project.
  • Select and implement project management controls and methodology to ensure successful delivery.
  • Identify, assess, document, and manage progress, issues, and risks, with a pro-active approach to resolution, communication, and escalation.
  • With the Project Lead, identify and then coordinate deliverables of each workstream, and work with workstream leads to ensure timely delivery at key stages in the process.
  • Schedule and contribute to planning and status meetings, preparing documents as required.
  • Keep up to date with progress across collaborating partners, regarding project milestones, agreements, solutions, and issues.

Profile

Person Specification:

  • Educated to degree level with additional professional qualification in project management (i.e., Prince2 or equivalent) or significant relevant experience.
  • Working knowledge of managing projects in an educational, health or other non-commercial environment.
  • Detailed knowledge of formal project management techniques and tools for successful project delivery.
  • Experience in new programme development in a HE context.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and stakeholder management.
  • Experience in setting up timelines and documentation required to support programme development.
  • Excellent report writing and briefing skills.
