ROLE- Project Manager

LOCATION- Surrey

TERM- Permanent

SALARY- £42,000- £47,000 per annum (Dependant on experience, please advise what you're looking for)

My client designs and manufactures a range of electro-mechanical products for different industries including the aerospace and defence sectors. They are looking to take on a Project Manager on a permanent basis in the Surrey area.

The Project Manager will ideally have the following attributes:

  • HNC / HND / Degree qualified in Engineering or similar but QBE
  • 5 of more years' experience of working within a similar Project Management role
  • Previous experience of working within the defence sector
  • Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Excellent knowledge of program management tools and procedures (ideally PMP or PRINCE2)
  • Strong management and leadership skills are essential
  • Understanding of lean and process improvement principles
  • Understanding of cash flow management principles

The Project Manager role will involve:

  • Managing the daily execution of contract requirements
  • Ensuring all cost, schedules and performance goals are met
  • Co-ordinating with customers on matters relating to contracts and bid proposals
  • Leading meetings (kick off through to product close)
  • Providing leadership to the program team
  • Developing plans to execute contracts (budgets for labour, materials, travel etc,)
  • Identify, assess, monitor and mitigate risk throughout the programme life cycle
  • Developing corrective action plans when needed
  • Developing program planning (BOM's and Basis of Estimate)
  • Working under the guidance of senior level management
