Job Title: Damp & Mould Project Manager (3-month Contract)

Location: Waltham Forest, London

Salary: £350+ per day

Contract Type: Hybrid

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Damp & Mould Project Manager to join an established Damp and Mould Task Force at a local authority in Waltham Forest. This role involves responding swiftly and effectively to reports of damp and mould in homes, ensuring the well-being of our residents and the maintenance of our properties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and lead the Damp and Mould Task Force, overseeing a team of surveyors and supported by a Business Support Officer.
  • Manage and respond to reports of damp and mould in residential properties, ensuring prompt and effective resolution.
  • Produce monthly reports and analyse data to identify trends and advise on necessary actions.
  • Arrange and lead training sessions on damp and mould for staff members.
  • Collaborate with other London Boroughs in piloting damp and mould software/devices.
  • Manage case progression, engaging with residents and councillors, and ensuring all parties are kept informed of next steps and completion of works.
  • Work closely with the Head of Building Works and contractors, participating in weekly meetings to discuss cases and ensure alignment of efforts.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in managing and leading teams, motivating them to achieve personal and organisational objectives.
  • Experience in managing technology projects within a large organisation, adhering to time, budget, and quality constraints.
  • Ability to effectively prioritise and manage a varied workload, responding to the needs of all stakeholders.
  • Strong report writing and communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages for different audiences.
  • Experience in handling complex and contentious matters with diplomacy and advocacy, aligning actions with major policy objectives.
  • Proficient in planning, monitoring, and reviewing activities to ensure effectiveness.
  • Excellent resource management and coordination skills, overseeing work carried out by various individuals and organisations.
  • Ability to make decisive decisions and thrive under pressure.
