Are you a Project Engineer looking to work in a well-established award-winning internationally operating manufacturing company in Standish? Due to growth the company is now expanding their team. Your main function is to plan and implement mechanical projects, generate proposals, establish project goals and managing budgets. You will be rewarded with an employer that are Investors in staff training, current technology, offering a good work to life balance. Hours are 35 per week, Monday to Friday 8.00 am to 4.00 pm, with a salary of £40,000 - £50,000.

Project Engineer Duties:

  • Ensuring that all aspects of the project proceed while adhering to internal company SOPs as well as external regulations and laws and required quality.
  • Develop a plan for each project that includes its requirements, cost and timings.
  • Deliver projects on time, in budget and to the required quality.
  • Analyse tasks concerning the project schedule.
  • Liaising with contractors, suppliers and internal company stakeholders, Identify, plan and manage required resources along with potential risk.
  • Identify risk assessment requirements and participate in these as needed
  • Ongoing reporting of the project progress.
  • Troubleshooting problems as they arise on a project - finding efficient and effective solutions
  • Manage all phases of projects, including engineering design, procurement, planning, installation,evaluation
  • Contribute to the verification and signing off of designs
  • Create designs to solve specific issues, including creating equipment specifications
  • Change requests must be explained in an understandable, clear, and focused manner
  • To accurately complete all necessary documentation in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that all duties/activities associated are carried out in compliance to Health, Safety, Environment.
  • Participate in a variety of meetings and follow up/communicate instructions.
  • Create and/or update engineering drawings as required, such as isometrics.
  • Ensure compliance with codes, policies, practices, specifications, performance standards and other aspects of the project.

Project Engineer Requirements:

  • Required Minimum of 5 years’ experience within the Quality Assurance or similar industry.
  • Required qualified up to degree level or served full apprenticeship and trained in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Required knowledge of mechanical design, maintenance of equipment, such as agitators, reactors and pumps.
  • Must have experience of Management systems such as Permit-to-Work, Management of Change &Lockout - Tagout.
  • A working knowledge of the chemical industry including agitated semi batch reactors.
  • It would be advantageous to have COMAH OR ATEX site experience.
  • IT literate in Microsoft Office Packages Word, Outlook
  • Strong communication both written and verbal, able to build relationships, understanding of working in fast paced environments with the ability to prioritise and adapt to change, whilst able to understand process or continuous improvement.
  • Model and promote an organisational culture that fosters safety through effective leadership.
  • Team player, hands on approach with a positive attitude to learning and can work collaboratively.
