Job Position: Project Engineer - Manufacturing

Job Status: Permanent

Job Summary: Work as part of the team working on and managing:
New Product Introduction (NPI) projects
New technology introductions
Support of high-end bespoke products
Perform a lead role in the transition of new products and/or technology projects from R & D through to series production.
This role will require the Project Engineer to work hands-on on the build of early production machines to help ensure appropriate build procedures are developed.
Provide day to day project management for allotted projects, including planning, scheduling, driving action registers etc
Provision of project engineering support where required with the aim of resolving problems, improving overall efficiencies and ensuring that new products are introduced into production efficiently with the minimum of disruption.
Assist in the development and implementation of improvement initiatives to ensure continued and improved profitability.

Experience: Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook to an intermediate level.
Ability to organise and prioritise workloads.
Ability to act on own initiative, dealing with unexpected problems that arise.
Ability to effectively delegate while maintaining forward motion on key deliverables.
Proven team player skills with the ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships.
Capable of managing multiple projects.
Capable of reading drawings and schematics.
Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing with individuals at all levels.
Good interpersonal skills.
Proactive and the ability to make decisions.
Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
Attention to detail.

Qualifications
Essential: HNC/HND in an engineering discipline or equivalent.
Relevant project engineering/management experience.
Track record of successful completed projects.

Desirable: Honours degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent.
A professional project management qualification such as Prince2® Practitioner and/or PMP®

Responsibilities: Prepare project estimates, budget, schedules and execution plans.
Prepare and submit reports on the progress and status of projects.
Undertake technical investigations and assist with resolving manufacturing problems.
Support the continuous improvement process within every facet of the manufacturing process.
Manage individual improvement projects as required with a time scale.
New products/process introduction.
Provide technical support and training to production and assembly personnel if applicable,
Work within the guidelines of the quality management systems to ensure that manufacturing processes are delivered in line with business objectives.
Determine the manufacturing processes and methods of new and existing products.
Monitor manufacturing activity and assist with initiating changes or improvements if required.
Support/work with project teams to achieve a cost effective and reliable product ensuring design for production where possible.
Liaise with project teams and manufacturing and support functions to ascertain manufacturability of new and existing products.
Identify tooling, equipment and services required for product manufacture and ensure all manufacturing process/equipment are in place prior
Maintenance and support of data collection to enable KPI's for reporting.
