Programme Verification Officer

Urgent requirement for an experience Programme Verification Officer to join their leading company in Belfast.

This is a temporary positions for 6 months with an immediate start

Working Hours: 42 hour per week (including 1 hour paid lunch break per working day)

Hourly Rate: £13.37 p/h

Job Purpose:

You will be carrying out expenditure verification of projects funded under the INTERREG VB and C programmes. Managing financial and administrative processes of the SEUPB in respect of its responsibilities as the appointed Body to make EU grant payments in accordance with EU and Member State regulations to approved projects.

Essential Criteria:

• Third level qualification in a financial related subject area
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in financial management in accordance with approved procedures within the public, private, voluntary or community sectors
• Experience in managing claims verification and audit procedures
• Experience in working with, understanding and interpreting financial data
• Experience in the use of IT for the purpose of financial reporting – IT literate
• Excellent financial skills
• Experience of report writing

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage a caseload of partners pertaining to the verification of expenditure under the INTERREG VB/VC Programmes
• Carry out project verification visits on partner expenditure
• Drafting of First Level Control Verification Reports on the Electronic Monitoring Systems for the INTERREG VB / VC Programmes
• Managing verification and audit procedures
• Data Processing
• Liaising with a wide range of individuals and organisations
• Submission of the reports to the Financial Controller for review and Certification
• Carry out On the Spot Checks (and draft associated reports) on NI partners approved under the INTERREG VB / VC Programmes
• Analyse and interpret financial data, interpret trends and report through to the Financial Controller
• Develop a knowledge of the work carried out by the Body and the changing priorities within the Body
• Collate and distribute financial information as required to meet the Body’s internal management needs
• Manage and ensure the safe storage of all financial records within the post holder’s area of responsibility
• Provide appropriate service support to the Body as required
• Oversee the filing systems, both manual and electronic to effectively manage all information within the section
• Facilitate the work of internal and external auditors appointed to report on the operation of systems and controls
• Ad hoc duties as required by the Body
