Success Recruit are working with a growing and well-established safety equipment hire business who are currently looking to recruit a Procurement Manager to join their dynamic team based in Essex.

The desired candidate will have a strong procurement background, a clear ability to work proactively and demonstrate an analytical approach to tasks. Looking to support and nurture key relationships within the process to support aggressive growth plans this business have in place set to achieve over the next couple of years will allow this to be an exciting opportunity.

The successful Procurement Manager will be expected to:

  • Have 2+ years of experience in Procurement or a related field
  • Demonstrate an ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
  • Have exceptional communication and negotiation skills
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software

Job specification

Purpose of the role:

The successful Procurement Manager will play a critical role in ensuring the timely & cost-effective acquisition of goods and services for the business, whilst supporting a team of two and ensuring all training and support is provided.

This is an exciting opportunity for somebody who enjoys challenging processes within the procurement space and implementing change to increase efficiency as well as supporting with the day-to-day activities to ensure this department runs smoothly.

Duties will include:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and understand their procurement needs/requirements.
  • Raise purchase orders and manage the procurement process efficiently & transparently, adhering to budgetary constraints and timelines.
  • Work closely with the sales team, operations department, and other relevant departments to ensure a smooth procurement process. Collaborating effectively to define specifications, obtain necessary approvals, and resolve any issues related to procurement.
  • Build & maintain strong relationships with suppliers - includes performing supplier assessments, negotiating terms and conditions, and maintaining regular communication to ensure optimal pricing, quality, and delivery of goods/services.
  • Develop & implement effective cost management strategies to drive cost savings and efficiency.
  • Regularly review market trends, conduct price negotiations with suppliers, and identify ways to reduce procurement costs without sacrificing quality.
  • Demonstrate a proactive "can-do" attitude and continuously explore opportunities to improve existing processes.
  • Identify and implement best practices and streamline workflows to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm

Salary: Circa £40k (DOE)
