Our client is looking to recruit an experienced Procurement Manager, you would be responsible for managing prime suppliers and overall strategic supply chain. You will lead the development and execution of a procurement strategy within a development engineering Programme of New Product Introduction that supports operational readiness training for NATO and the MoD. The role will focus around building engagement with current key suppliers as well as identifying new ones, development of a KPIs and supplier performance model and managing renewal quotes / competing supplier bid process. You will be responsible for the integration of the supply chain into the overall Programme to achieve cost, quality and delivery requirements. You will be responsible for the direct management of critical key suppliers. The successful candidate needs to have ability to be SC cleared or have SC clearance in place and needs experience working within an Aerospace development engineering environment and experienced within Through life programs - procurement support. This role is in Christchurch, Dorset and requires occasional travel. It offers a very competitive salary with excellent benefits.
As a Procurement Manager your skills and qualifications will ideally include:
Extensive background working as a subcontract manager responsible for the entire purchasing process and project lifecycle from Development through to In Service Support (ISS).
Experience working on complex development engineering Programmes in an Aerospace Engineering organisation, and managing suppliers against development/delivery milestones
Familiar with working in cross function project teams, accountable to both Project Manager and Functional Leadership
An understanding of EASA regulations that have supply chain implications such as Part 21G, J, and 145.
An advanced knowledge and experience of procurement and contract management principles (e.g. contract formation, indemnities, consequential loss)
Expertise in various contract types (Cost-type, Firm / Fixed Price, Fixed Price Incentive Fee, Fixed Price Level of Effort, Time and Material) and managing the flow down conditions
Experienced in managing suppliers to the standards of AS9100D and/or ISO 9001:2015,
Experience with project management principles and working as part of a Programme or project team
Strong business acumen with the ability to clearly recognise risk elements in business transactions and develop strategies for mitigating risk
Reporting out Supply Chain progress to senior level business stakeholders.
