This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, driven and motivated Procurement Manager to join a global supplier of innovative life support products and services in atmosphere monitoring. Over 60% of our client’s products are exported into a number of niche markets worldwide including military, commercial diving, sport diving hospitality and safety. Reporting directly to the Operations Director this is a pivotal role in delivering the future of an expanding organisation. The successful candidate will have experience of working in a fast paced, high complexity environment. You will have a natural desire to improve and develop the processes you are working with to deliver a sustainable supply chain.
Duties will include leading and managing a small team with responsibility for a £2 million spend across all areas of purchasing. You will be proactive in managing the supply chain, visiting suppliers (some overseas) and will deliver a 5% material cost reduction annually. Other responsibilities will include owning the purchasing and supply chain procedure, managing obsolete items and introducing new products.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience of successfully managing a procurement function. Some travel may be required within Europe and the USA.
You will have a high level of organisational, communication and negotiation skills, in depth knowledge of MRP/ERP systems and have a strong sense of ownership to deliver departmental objectives.
