An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Process Improvement Engineer to join their fast growing team.

The ideal candidate will ideally come from a similar manufacturing background (castings), with proven experience in minimising internal and external scrap.

Role Description

Key Responsibilities:

• To minimise internal and external scrap
• Ubiquitous pursuit for development and methodology of parameters that produce sound castings.
• Pioneer design modifications needed to enhance the quality, reduce lead time, tooling and manufacturing costs.
• Maintain calibration of simulation software and measurement tools
• Develop and maintain 'right first time and everytime' culture
• Advance and support operational methodology of simulation software
• Co-ordinate and maintain QC systems according to VFL quality management
• Reduce cost of manufacturing and eliminate re-working
• Be a role model for the department to influence positive change
• Mentor employees with potential and passion for learning

Skills and Qualifications

• Experience within a Process Engineer role within a similar casting manufacturing environment, ideally a heavier background
• Proven experience in reducing internal and external scrap
• Able to optimise methods of manufacturing tooling/rigging
• Able to update and maintain NPI
• Able to liaise with customers, machinists, subcontract tooling engineers and pattern-shops
