We are seeking a Process Design Engineer to join our engineering team, providing innovative solutions and contributing to the development of new products and processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering, preferably in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, and will be responsible for designing bespoke equipment, supporting sales and contracts departments, and participating in the development of decarbonisation strategies.

Day to Day of the Role:

• Collaborate with the Sales Department to prepare the technical aspects of Tenders, including process design, compliance with customer specifications, and production of bill of materials.

• Ensure technical integrity of quotations and liaise with clients and sub-vendors throughout the tender and contract stages.

• Prepare key documents and formal calculations for Pressure Part Design, Refractory Design, and Key Equipment specification.

• Provide process engineering support to Contracts/Engineering departments, including attending HAZOP meetings and assisting with commissioning/troubleshooting.

• Undertake high-value engineering studies to support clients’ investment decisions for furnace and WHRU revamping and upgrading.

• Contribute to the development of new products/processes aimed at decarbonising processes and improving computer tools.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• A good degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline, preferably Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.

• Strong analytical and technical problem-solving skills across heat transfer, fluid flow, combustion, pressure part design, automation and control, emissions control, materials selection, and mechanical strength calculations.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical issues clearly to foreign clients.

• Knowledge of heat transfer and Steam Systems, HRSGs, and/or Boilers is advantageous.

• Willingness to travel and the ability to think commercially as well as technically.

• Extremely organised with good attention to detail and the ability to manage a diverse workload.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• High computer literacy.
