As a Principal Engineer for our dynamic and growing team, you will play a crucial role in architecting the development and maintenance of our applications, ensuring optimal system structures, efficiency, and adherence to industry best practices. Your expertise in software system design and software architecture will be central to the success of our projects. Beyond technical proficiency, you will be a leader, mentor, and motivator, leveraging your skills to bring out the best in your team.

Collaborating closely with the Principal Engineering Lead, your role entails guiding teams in technical processes, addressing security vulnerabilities, enforcing coding standards, and promoting best practices. Your extensive experience as a senior "full stack" developer has equipped you with a diverse skill set and a demonstrated capability to lead and influence technical teams. This role involves active participation in an Agile delivery environment, fostering collaboration with peers and management.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design and creation of the technical governance across the Squads.
  • Definition and implementation of development standards and best practise.
  • Ensure best practices and standards are followed and help run brown bag sessions to upskill the team.
  • Coordinate and validate estimates with Squad Leads for development and drive-up consistency.
  • Identification of tech debt, security & business impact analysis. Work with Product Owners to get items included in the backlog and prioritised appropriately.
  • Work with Solution Architecture to influence solution and ensure High Level Designs are implemented as intended.

Qualifications:

  • Highly capable in creating Software Solutions
  • Expert in Software Development Lifecycle
  • Hands on experience with Web technologies Microsoft .NET, C#, JavaScript, CSS and HTML, VSTS.
  • SQL /TSQL / SQL Server including database design
  • Experience building and maintaining Azure DevOps Yaml CI/CD pipelines.
  • Public Cloud expertise, including IaaS, PaaS, Serverless, Microservices, SaaS - particularly Azure.
